The first ever World Leisure EXPO opens in the city of Hangzhou, China on April 22 and runs until October 22, 2006. A joint enterprise of the World Leisure, The City of Hangzhou, and the Songcheng Group, it is designed to celebrate the diversity of leisure and its capacity to change the lives of people and communities world wide.

International Awards for Liveable Communities 2006

The LivCom Awards were launched in 1997 and are endorsed by the United Nations Environment Programme. LivCom is the world’s only Awards Competition focussing on Best Practice regarding the management of the local environment. The objective of LivCom is to improve the quality of life of individual citizens through the creation of ‘liveable communities’.

Games of the XXIX Olympiad - Beijing 2008
Beijing, China 8 - 24 August 2008

On 13 July 2001 at the 112th IOC Session in Moscow, Beijing was elected the Host City for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad in 2008. The vote followed in line with the recommendation of the IOC Evaluation Commission that "a Beijing Games would leave a unique legacy to China and to sports. The Commission is confident that Beijing could organise an excellent Games".

IFPRA World Conference 2010

Jointly hosted by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and the Hong Kong Recreation Management Association.

Hong Kong has a rich heritage and culture and despite its relatively small total area has in excess of 2,100 hectares of public leisure facilities. One of the oldest parks, the Hong Kong Zoological and Botanical Gardens, was founded in 1871. Other famous attractions include the Tai Po Waterfront Park , Hong Kong Disneyland, Ocean Park, and the recently opened Hong Kong Wetland Park a 61 hectare world class ecotourism attraction.

Plan to visit Hong Kong in 2010 - there is plenty to see, learn and enjoy.
